The Internal Revenue Service has extended the tax filing date by three months to file tax returns as the novel coronavirus continues to spread across the U.S.
Treasury Secretary Mnuchin announced that the new filing deadline is July 15th – penalties and interest will not accrue on payments until after the deadline. New York will also move its state income tax filing deadline to July 15th according to state Budget Director Robert Mujica. In response to this deadline extension we are implementing a remote tax preparation policy to protect our clients, their families, and our staff. We can prepare your taxes in a secure, remote environment to get your returns completed in a timely manner despite the current challenge of social distancing.
